  • Festival of Saint Anthony the Abbot

    16 - 17 Gennaio

Our most intimate and homey festival occurs on the 16th and 17th of January and kicks off Carnival.

In the vicinity of the small church dedicated to the Saint, the Su Fogòne is prepared, a great bonfire of dry logs which burn for several days. People dance around the fire to the sound of instruments typical of popular Sardinian music while other, smaller bonfires illuminate the night throughout the neighborhoods and suburbs.

During the festival, there is the chance to sample produce typical of the region: there is everything from skillfully cooked meat to quality wine, cheese, sweets and, above all, su pani' e saba, sapa bread, a masterpiece of Sardinian confectionary art to which Laconi dedicates an entire festival.
